The Honourable Mr. Owen Hughes and other Honourable Humbers called attention to the possibility of pollution and the loss of the Alordeen Catchment Area for development purposes and they again considered that the Shing Mun Schec
Sections 1 and 2 and when necessary Section 5, should talle
recedence over the Aberdeen Schomo although the advantages of the latter had boon carefully examined.
After exhaustive discussion the Unofficial Kors held
to the unanimous opinion expressed at t.c rovious wooting
held on the Sth inst., viz., üla. it was most desirable that
the Shing un Schone, 1st and 2nd Sections, be proceeded
it instead of the Aberdeen Scheme.
The Honourable Unofficial members wished to impress
upon Government the urgent nccessity of proceeding with the
Uross Harbour Jipe (part of Section 1 of the Shing Lun
Scheme) without further delay and they considered
more cconomical method proposal for this Pipe line should
be adopted, viz., a 12" pipe laid on the Harbour bed at an
estimated cost of $500,000.

The former recommendation that the catchwaters referred
to in Ir. Henderson's report dated 20th February, 1928, also
to stand.
Honourable Dr. Kotewall wished to add the following
rider, viz., "that in view of the great distress now being
occasioned amongst the population of the Jest and of the
City where restriction had to be in foros he was greatly in
favour of the Aberdeen Scheme being also proceeded wi
concurrently with the Shing Run Scheme already recommended
by the Committec".
